The Liebster Award: Get to Know Me and Other Bloggers!
Fellow blogger, Heidi Sloss of The Art of Living Fully, nominated me for the Liebster Award, which is an award for bloggers to recognize and get to know other bloggers.
I was asked to answer some questions and I get the opportunity to nominate other bloggers to participate. Check out the blogs I nominate at the end – their writing inspires me. These ladies are creators and risk takers that keep me motivated. Nothing makes us happier than when our writing is read and touches others in some way. Please feel free to tweet and comment. Warmly, Jenelle
Here are the questions Heidi asked, ready for my reply? Do read on…and if you make it to the end you are AMAZING. No really thanks…
1. What makes you happy?
Family. Quality chai tea and dark chocolate with almonds. Helping others and knowing I've made an impact in a meaningful way makes me smile.
2. Why did you start blogging?
Being a child of the Silicon Valley has led me to hold many roles within Fortune 500 corporations. I've been worn out by the rat race and after having child #2 agreed to quit my full-time and care for family. With the demands of raising a family in this valley being creative about how to work and handle priorities is a constant juggling act.
Loving bloggers and vloggers work I was eager to stretch my creative muscles in this way. This craft allows me to meet fascinating, warm hearted and genuine content creators worldwide. It's addictive and exciting! Plus if we really grow our influence it can become smart passive income. So I ask why not blog? Stories of life, love and living never get old.
3. What is the best thing anyone has ever said about your blog?
After submitting a guest post DRAFT for November 2015 the blog owner commented, " This is really, really great. I wouldn't call this a draft at all! Seriously, thank you so much. While I'm so sorry to hear of your grandma's passing, I was inspired by the way you wrote about her. I feel inspired to live a better life because of her, and I never even met her. Your post gave me goosebumps. =]". Not bad right, watch out world Im just getting started.
4. What is one piece of advice you would offer or one saying you live by?
If not you then who? Keep living with joy and intention, our lives depend on it. A little dramatic? Possibly. 😉
5. What are your top three bucket list items?
1) Get to Hawaii before 40. (just got back!). New goal of going again in 3 years…
2) Write a book.
3) Travel to Africa
6. What is your ultimate guilty pleasure?
Spending a full day in bed reading and gorging on YouTube hair and lifestyle videos. Rarely happens but enjoy when it does. And sometimes I sneak dark chocolate for breakfast. Shhhhh, its our secret.
7. What is one product or service you cannot live without?
Argan oil for hair and body. My mobile phone…hazards of modern living
8. What is your favorite U.S. destination?
Atlanta, GA…my favorite Uncle is there. We affectionately call him Uncle Man.
9. What two countries make you the happiest to visit?
