I once raved about being a strong woman. Now I look in the mirror and see a brave woman. Thankful that I'm wise enough to now understand the difference. I want this feeling for others.
~ Tierra Destiny Reid
This quote from Tierra Destiny Reid made me pause for a moment and reflect as I read through her new book, "The Power of Peace in a Pause". Re-reading this passage multiple times gave me more understanding of its meaning. I too have heard, "Your so strong!" "How do you do it?" As women we are constantly the guardians and caretakers of those around us. Has this been the case with you?
When hearing these comments it gives me an uneasy feeling. Like many leaders, dreamers, and such fear and doubt plague you constantly. All strength and bravery possessed for me is not from within. In fact I can sum it up into one word. Faith.
Bravery for me goes beyond being strong. Bravery is like an article of clothing put on and worn daily. We can't do anything with out it. How can we be strong if we first were not brave giving us the strength to see through adversity.
As this year comes to a close and a new one is reigned in being brave will be even more important. I'm so grateful for having many great experiences in 2014 and others not so much. Do you feel similar?
Being brave in 2014 allowed me to:
1) Attend my first (2) blogging conferences
2) Enroll my now 4 yr old daughter into daycare
3) Start this BLOG! :-}
4) Travel
These are just a sampling of brave accomplishments for me this past year. There is much more to come.
Over to you!! What brave feats did you power through in 2014?
xoxo,
Jenelle
