Creating comfortable school prep routines that are quick and painless for my daughter have been on my mind. As an AM preschool session attendee we need easy haircare routines daily. It seems getting out the door in the AM is a bit more stressful especially for a curly girl.
To me each new adventure is a project to be managed, and back to school hair care is no different. My firstborn being a boy meant not much fuss was needed in the haircare area. Haircare essentials for boys include, a simple cut, shampoo, condition, hair pomade to keep any dry scalp and wispy hairs under control. Now having a girl's hair to manage, means more planning is needed. During these summer months we've been testing several new products and methods of hair care.
In a recent post I shared my enthusiasm after purchasing the Love Box from Everbutter. This product was a breath of fresh air for our parched kinks and coils.
Living in Northern, CA means dry skin and hair. It's a constant battle and on top of that we are in a long time drought period. It's been rough, literally!
Back to school kinky hair care means moisture, moisture, moisture will need to stay top priority. So needless to say I was elated to experience the Everbutter products. The result of our using these products was silky, shiny, and fluffy hair. It's been a great addition to our hair routine.
Our Favorite products were…
And I was pleasantly surprised by…
We love the fluffy appearance these products give our hair and the additional stretch. Kinky hair generally shrinks up to 50% of its length, these products provide an elongation effect. What does that mean? More hang time…twists hang long, braids stretch further, and loose hair touches our backs. This is a GOOD thing for our hair type and makes for a fun time as my daughter loves to swing her hair to and fro.

So I have been racking my mind with a hairstyle that my girl will be wearing. She is excited for kindergarten, and I am too, but I need to revamp her hairstyle that she has been wearing for the past 2 years. And I have been struggling finding a new one, mainly because she is wild and so I need something that will hold up. I accidentally stumbled across a style that is perfect! We will see how it works the first week of school. Hopefully it will not be back to the drawing board.
We have the same issue, finding a style to hold up just doesn’t happen. It must have something to do with the softness of our little ones under 5 hair. The frizz reminds me of a baby duckling. Keeping the hair clean, and protected is my aim. Style perfection not so much LOL…Great of you to stop by the blog Kummbareh.
I had my kids in afternoon preschool because I am not a fan of mornings and needing to get kids out and dressed, much less with hair done. My worst hair incident with my daughter was trying to get her very curly hair ready for a Valentine's Day father-daughter dance. It started with a round brush and blow dryer and ended up with scissors and tears. Not a pretty picture!
Ha, ha…the joys of curly girls. Maybe I will have to see the PM pre-school schedule as a blessing. Thanks Heidi!
