Everyday it seems my schedule gets busier and busier. It's as though someone is speeding up the clock and laughing at me as I scramble to keep things in order.
For 2015 I promised myself I wasn't going to get overly stressed or bent out of shape about ANYTHING. Nope creativity is the name of the game this year.
In this post I wanted to share a few life hacks saving my sanity. Every time I use these it's as though I'm stealing back time in my day. Score!!
So are you ready for my 5 Life Hacks:
#1 Plated – This service is the newest addition to my current time savers. Each week you are provided 2 – 3 meal cards, or more if you choose. Groceries packaged neatly in ziplock baggies, labeled and delivered straight to your home are ready for your cooking expertise. EASY!! The meal choices are all fresh and figure friendly depending on how much of each ingredient you add. Plenty of fresh veggies are provided so no worries there. So convenient!!
The best part is if you have dietary restrictions you can modify each recipe to your liking, adding more or less salt and such.

#2 Stitch Fix – When was the last time you purchased a new outfit or accessory? Ever wish you had a personal shopper? Time to try on your new frocks without a little one whining in a too small dressing room.
If you are like most busy Mom's it can be easy to forget about keeping your own wardrobe fresh and up to date. Those fun Saturday afternoons hanging in the mall have long been a thing of the past for me. It's just too much trouble trying to focus on fashion and keep the little one occupied while shopping. Also overspending is easily done with so many options to choose from when shopping at the mall.
What's a woman to do!!
In comes, Stitch Fix customized fashion fixes created just for YOU!! This is one of the coolest services out there in my opinion! Simply create an account and add all your personal clothing size, color, and style preferences. Once you've done this you choose your frequency of deliveries. And presto!! You get direct mailed fashion you "shopped" for sent straight to you. Your personal stylist does the hard work, and you get to take all the credit.
I choose to get deliveries either monthly or every other month depending on budget. 🙂
To get the best possible fashion "fix" make it easier for your stylist and create a Pinterest Board called Stitch Fix. Try it out and let me know how it goes.
#3 Make use of the local library – My next life hack will be for those who still love a REAL book. You know the kind with pages you can touch and feel. As much as I love reading via my computer, mobile phone, or Amazon Kindle app on my iPad, visiting my local library has saved me $100s and NEVER gets old. But in all honesty sometimes getting to the library can be a pain if you have a little one in tow. How do I overcome this obstacle?
Place books on hold before you arrive at the library. As a habit I keep a running list of books to read via Google Keep this helps me stay up to date with the latest topics I am interested in. When visiting my libraries website it is super convenient to place things on hold in prep for my next visit. By the time I arrive at the library the books are already waiting for me. Score!! As a bonus while my daughter plays and hangs out I peruse my selections to see if they are worth me actually checking out and taking them home.
#4 DIY Body Scrub – Ready for the easiest sugar scrub recipe? This can be created in under 10 mins right in your own kitchen. If you never thought DIY was for you this recipe will make you a believer. Start with these 3 simple ingredients you can get fancy or keep it simple depending on your preference.
1) Sugar
2) Olive Oil
3) Essential Oil of choice (lavender, orange, ylang, ylang, etc)
First add about 1 cup of sugar to a mason jar or other container with a sealed top. Then add 1 cup or so of Olive Oil. Finally sprinkle in several generous drops of your favorite essential oil(s). And that's it!! This scrub stays close to our shower area and works to gently smooth out all of winters rough dry skin. I've even experimented with it as a lip scrub. Works great their too. Try it out and let me know how it works for you.
* Remember to give the shower a quick scrub as surfaces are can become slippery.
#5 Making Things Happen Power Sheets– Regular goal planning is so passe. The traditional process just wasn't doing it for me this year. So after a networking conversation with a colleague I learned about these awesome goal sheets that really add some weight to goal planning. You go through a much more in depth understanding of why you are choosing a goal, how it affects your overall life plan and not just this year or moment. Epic!!
Before I purchased my 6-month set the store was sold out for over a month. Order TODAY at only $35.00 as they are in stock last I checked the website. Not a huge investment, but certainly lots to reap from goal planning in this way.
Well these are a few of my life hacks helping me get through busy Spring days. Hope they help!
What life hacks have you found helpful for 2015?
Wishing you joy and intention!
