Are you a caretaker for kids, elderly family, or a dear friend? How are you managing your self care routine? Do you struggle with keeping even the basics of caring for yourself an important part of your week?
Often times we have the best of intentions to "do it all". Yet our self care and well-being can become the last thing on our already overflowing to do list.
During a recent webinar with Kailei Carr I was reminded of how we can keep our self care routine simple.
Everyone wants to look good and feel their best.
I often struggle myself, especially after having child #2 it became a chore to keep it all together. And after breastfeeding for almost 3 years it took some time to even revamp my bra collection. To much info? Perhaps, but hey it's the little things that can make us feel a bit more put together. And my fellow breastfeeding Mom's know what I am talking about here, right?
Let this post be a gentle reminder that it can be done, and breaking it down to 3 simple steps can make that happen.
Ms. Kailei's tips for an easy to follow self-care routine are great for the budget conscience, time strapped, and energy sapped person.
The simple 3 step plan to self care for caretakers is:
1) Dress for the day even if you're not leaving the house.
2) Set your clothes out the night before.
3) When you feel bad, dress up!
Not bad right? Let's face it, breaking things down into 3 parts means you can add or take away any portion that is not realistic for you.
Many fashion and beauty trends beg our attention. Yet it is not always possible to stay current with popular trends.
Contouring, please. Eyelashes, really?? Shapewear, are you kidding me? Oh wait that last one could be useful at times.
For all those that aim to be #flawless #onfleek, congrats to you! For the rest of us, we need a simple self care beauty plan to get through hectic days.
I've found my greatest defensive is SIMPLiCiTY.
It just works! Don't get me wrong I enjoy the latest and greatest in make-up and fashion. The key is removing extra steps in our self care routine in an effort to save time and alleviate added stress. If there is a beautiful lip gloss we enjoy slather it on. Maybe a favorite pair of skinny jeans, wear them. BONUS TIP – Incorporate a few go to wardrobe pieces and accent the outfit with a few stylish accesories to keep your look fresh. I never spend the day in pjs/nightgowns unless I am sick. Even with little kids I needed to get dressed every day. Just made me feel better, even on days when I didn't leave my home. Good advice I received years ago and followed ever since!
Its amazing how simply getting dressed can help us feel more ready to the day.
